Diane Byster is a Registered Yoga Teacher, California State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and National Certified Counselor. She received certification as a yoga teacher in spring of 2009 through the Avalon Art and Yoga Center teacher training program in Palo Alto, CA. Following graduation from Avalon, Diane began teaching Vinyassa style yoga at several yoga studios in the Bay Area and through the Mind/Body Medicine program at Kaiser Permante. Diane also teaches Power yoga classes, that concentrate on strengthening the core.
Diane designed and taught yoga classes that focused on themes of prayer and rest called; ‘Yoga for Connecting Heaven and Earth,’ at a Spiritual Renewal Conference and has taught the yoga portion of several Yoga/Kirtan events at a Bay Area meditation center. Diane has taught yoga classes, internationally in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2011 and in Birmingham, United Kingdom, 2017, for the annual IEDTA Psychotherapy Conference. Diane presented two workshops at the conference in the United Kingdom: ‘Yoga Informed Psychotherapy’ and ‘Yoga Psychotherapy for Healing Trauma.’
In addition to her teaching, Diane incorporates principles and techniques from yoga into her work as psychotherapist. Diane is passionate about yoga and practices daily.
